Adult Classes and Services:

Our focus has always been to offer classes that will leave you feeling both exhilarated and fit.  Our certified, experienced and professional staff adds a variety of choices to our group fitness schedule. I hope you are as excited about these programs as we are.  Please, join us and lets kick into high gear together as we strengthen our bodies as well as our spirits.

Koinonia offers a wide range of programs for adults including:

  • A full weight room complete with free weights and machines
  • A cardio room complete with treadmills, bikes and ellipticals
  • Mens and woman’s locker rooms with showers and a sauna
  • A heated indoor pool for open swim time or in one of our classes listed below

Adult Programs

NO SWIMMING SKILLS ARE NECESSARY FOR AQUA CLASSES

SENIOR AQUATICS

For those of you who are young at heart and would enjoy an invigorating workout with a group of friends, Koinonia’s Sr. Aquatics program is the place for you! Everyone works at their own ability. We put an emphasis on cardiovascular training, range of motion improvement, flexibility and increasing the strength of your muscles. This is ideal for keeping your mobility strong and will benefit those suffering from joint and arthritis problems. No swimming skills are necessary. Class length is 30 minutes long with a 30-minute recreational swim.

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays: 11:00-11:30 a.m.
30 minutes recreational swim time from 11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.


WATEROBICS

Come join in the fun! Waterobics (Water Aerobics) can accommodate all levels of fitness. Consider us if you are limited in movement due to arthritis, have back, knee or hip problems, are overweight, pregnant, out of shape or just looking to try something new and different. Our pool is maintained at 86 degrees or warmer.Water Aerobics

Our Deep Waterobics program uses float-belts and noodles to get a fun and effective workout in the water. Remember that the water offers 12 times more resistance than the same movements performed on land. No swimming skills are necessary.

Gentle Yoga

This workout will focus on a mind-body connection. We will use simple stretches to relieve your stresses and ease your tensions. With a balanced series of Yoga poses, we will both strengthen and lengthen your muscles from head to toe. Seated chair yoga will also be offered.


Pilates & Weight Training

Pilates is a series of exercises that focus on your core or center that translates to your abdominal and back muscles. The foundation of this class is the breath, which helps activate your abdominal muscles – the secret to flattening those abs! The weight training will decrease your body fat and give strength, tone and definition to the existing muscles. A variety of equipment such as dumbells, body bar, resistance band, and balls are utilized in this class.


Personal Training

 For anyone looking for a one-on-one workout, the Ladies Circuit, Cardio Theater, Weight room, Pilates, Step Aerobics, Low Impact Aerobics, Water Fusion, Ball, Tubes and Body Bar are all available to you in a personalized workout. You set your goals and together we would strive to achieve them. Cost is $25 plus tax for a 30-minute session or $45 plus tax for a one-hour long session (by appointment only).

All classes are instructed by Dianne Brown- certified by NETA for group fitness exercise and the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) for water fitness classes, CPR and First Aid.
